This research project aims to create a frame and instruments for structural competitiveness which can be utilized in monitoring Finland’s growth conditions.
So called “competitiveness pyramid” is used as a frame in this project. This pyramid decomposes competitiveness into its various components. The research project defines quantitative indicators and their calculation methods for these components.
Created instruments will be largely based on hundreds variables behind IMD and WEF competitiveness instruments. From these instruments, it will be analyzed which variables are best to measure or explain the components of the competitiveness pyramid.
As a result is a coherent framework and monitoring these instruments will help business and economic policy makers in planning policy actions.
