The purpose of this research project is to produce an expert opinion assessing, on the basis of the “AI White Paper”, the impacts of the European Union’s artificial intelligence policy and regulation on the competitiveness and sustainable growth of Finnish companies.
Expert opinion is based on the Commission’s AI White Paper published on 19th of February 2020. It includes analysis or researcher’s view what are the wider effects of the document to the competitiveness of Finnish companies and sustainable growth, focusing especially on SME and start-ups and entrepreneurship.
Expert opinion also responds to Commission’s presentation of excellence and testing centres and maps the interest of the business and research field in participating in concentrations and the investments. Special attention is paid to Edge AI and Smart Manufacturing topics.
