Sustainable driving forces: Why do only a few remain at the top of productivity?

Sustainable driving forces: Why do only a few remain at the top of productivity?

Leading companies are used as anchors for innovation support, competence development and industrial policy. However, according to a recent Etla study, only around 1.5% of Finnish companies maintain their top productivity positions for several years. This project will provide an overall picture of which companies act as leading companies in industry, how permanent these positions are and what factors are related to long-term competitiveness. It will also examine whether the activities of leading companies are positively reflected on other companies in the same industry through R&D-based spillover effects. The results provide background information that can be used to support innovation activities and in companies’ strategic decision-making.
