The main objective of this project is to study the effects of public spending cuts and tax increases on gross domestic product (GDP) in Finland by type of expenditure and tax, i.e. to calculate the so-called fiscal policy coefficients, and to communicate the research results in a way that is understandable to the users of the information.
The aim is to combine in the best possible way the best practices of academic research, an understanding of the overall Finnish public finances and GDP statistics, and perspectives relevant to practical policymaking that are not sufficiently taken into account in academic research.
