The future of the Finnish tax system

The future of the Finnish tax system

This project studies how ongoing technological changes and globalization should be taken into account in the design of the Finnish tax system. The project takes stock of the research on how digitalization, artificial intelligence and robotization can be expected to influence public finances, income distribution and optimal taxation, and considers the results in the Finnish context. It also reviews recent developments in international tax coordination and considers future scenarios from the point of the Finnish economy. The project is conducted together with the VATT Institute for Economic Research.
