Slow GDP growth expected for Finland in 2015-2035

ETLA anticipates Finland’s GDP to grow by an average 1.5 per cent a year in the period 2015-2025. Growth is slowed by fiscal adjustment in the first half of the period.

In the period 2025-2035 the volume of total production is expected to grow a tad faster, by an average 1.7 per cent a year after the macroeconomic and fiscal adjustment process has been carried out.

The long-term forecast was prepared for the XXXII Economic Researchers’ Summer Seminar organized by the University of Jyväskylä School of Business and Economics on June 10, 2015, and has been published in Finnish in the Finnish Economic Journal 3/2015. Read or download the English translation.
