Growth continues rather strong despite instability in the financial markets

Euro area growth is expected to be rather strong in the 2015-2016 winter quarters in according to the Euro Growth Indicator, calculated by the Euroframe group in February 2016. After 10-quarter-long slow growth period until the third quarter of 2015, the Indicator shows 0.6 per cent growth for the fourth quarter of 2015. The estimate is 0.1 percentage point lower than the estimate in January, while the fourth quarter estimate is unchanged at of 0.5 per cent In year-on-year terms, the growth rates for the two forecast quarters are 1.9 and 1.8 per cent respectively.
